This programme focuses on medical basic and clinical science. It opens for independent research projects in clinical settings (e.g. hospital) or basic environments such as biomedical laboratories. The scope is broadly defined within the medical field and related areas. Currently PhD projects are focusing on e.g. orthopaedic surgery, cardiology, pharmacological screening studies, pain mechanisms, stem cells, neurobiology.
The projects typically involve patient studies but also basic animal studies are often included. The research quality is ensured by highly qualified supervisors in the various disciplines and general courses are offered in the medical area.
