A final report must be submitted no later than 3 months after the end of the research year.
The report must be approximately 20 A4 pages designed as a journal paper:
- state-of-the-art literature
- presentation of results
- extensive discussion of achieved results
The research year can also be documented by a manuscript for an international journal. If the latter model is used, the manuscript must be accompanied by declarations from all co-authors documenting the part of the work done by the research students. The report or the manuscript is to be submitted on time to the PhD office at the Faculty of Medicine at AAU.
An oral defense is held (presentation of results and discussion) no later than 1 month after the material is handed in. The principal supervisor serves as the examiner and a relevant external examiner is designated. The examiners jointly prepare a brief written evaluation of the report and the oral examination in English. A grade is not given; the only evaluation is whether the student has passed. When the PhD office has received a positive assessment, you will receive a research year diploma.
The report and assessment must be sent to email@example.com
